Cooking and Autism

Cooking & Autism

Cooking is more than preparing a meal. It brings together creativity, planning, focus, problem-solving, and practical everyday skills in an activity with a clear and rewarding result.
For autistic people, the kitchen can provide opportunities to practice independence, make choices, follow routines, explore sensory experiences, and express personal interests through food.
Cooking can also create connection with family, friends, and the wider community while developing skills that can support greater independence and future opportunities.

Autistic Food Creators

We want this page to grow into a collection of autistic people who cook, bake, create recipes, make videos, work in food businesses, or simply have a passion they want to share. Every story may look different — and that is exactly the point.
