Autism Unity is shaped by people who understand that autism is not simply about services or diagnoses. It is about people, families, relationships, opportunities, and belonging.
As a parent, I know that the autism journey is not experienced by one person alone. It touches the entire family — bringing challenges, questions, unexpected turns, and also moments of tremendous growth and pride.
What matters to me is turning our experiences into something useful for other families: stronger connections, greater understanding, and more opportunities for autistic people to develop their strengths and build meaningful lives.
Parents and caregivers are an essential part of the journey. We believe that when families have information, connections, understanding, and a supportive community around them, autistic individuals have a stronger foundation to grow, participate, and pursue their own goals.
The principles behind the work we do and the community we are building.
Autistic individuals and families have different experiences, needs, and goals. We believe meaningful support begins by listening and learning from those experiences.
Connection matters. We want families, autistic individuals, professionals, and supporters to meet, share experiences, exchange knowledge, and know they are part of a community.
We believe autistic people should have opportunities to discover their strengths, express themselves, build independence, develop meaningful skills, and be recognized for what they can do.
Autism Unity is rooted in our local community, but we also believe there is enormous value in learning from and connecting with autism communities beyond it. Through relationships across cultures and languages, we can exchange experiences, ideas, and resources that make our local work stronger. Wherever a family lives, the need to feel understood, supported, and included is universal.
Different experiences. Different journeys. One community.
